On May 5th, Hidden Beach guests came together to enjoy festivities befitting the fabulous 8th Anniversary celebration of Hidden Beach. The event kicked off in the morning with fun games and competitions by the pool but the exciting part took place at night! At 7.00 p.m. the celebration dinner with live sax player was served at the Moonlight Palapa, followed by the show and live music with Acapulco Golden Band. At 10.00 p.m. finally was time for the Hidden Beach Resort Cake Celebration followed by DJ music until late night to welcome another great year. Why don’t you start planning to attend the 9th anniversary next year??
Deana and Jim visited Hidden Beach this year for the 10th time since 2005. “We love this resort, we come here almost twice a year, and since we became Exotic Travelers members 2 years ago, it’s even easier and cheaper”. I spoke with them on a sunny morning by the pool and they looked happy, very happy. “In the past we went to other nudist resorts, but none of them keep up with the outstanding service we find here; since we discovered Hidden Beach, we can’t go anywhere else”. Manuel is one of the best known faces at Hidden Beach. If you have a walk by the pool and ask any guest who Manuel is, you wouldn’t find anyone who doesn’t know the answer. Most probable, you would find him surrounded by guests, asking them how they feel today.
Being a concierge in a small and personalized resort, Manuel has the opportunity to get to know the guests and follow every single request. That’s what he likes, and what he has being doing for almost 3 years. “I arrived at Hidden Beach in 2008, it has been fascinating to work in a hotel with a completely different market, it was the first time for me”.
Manuel was born in Puebla, in East-Central Mexico, but he has been living between Playa del Carmen and Cancun for 11 years. “I have never thought I could work in a nudist resort, it was not even in my mind that this kind of resorts could exist, and now here I am, extremely happy.”
I ask Manuel about a pleasant experience to share with us, he tells me that the best experience at Hidden Beach is his relationship with the guests, “they treat my colleagues and I with respect and affection. I feel that together with the clothes, they also take off the disguise a regular guest may have, and they teach us how to do it; it’s a more human relation, I feel privileged to experience it every day”.
Here's a recipe for an Ojo Rojo (red eye), a delicious morning booze-up for the next time you're in Mexico!
Salt the rim of a pint glass by dipping the rim into a plate of water, then a plate of salt. Pour an ice cold beer into the glass, extra points if it is a sunny Mexican brand. Drop in a splash of tomato juice (or a little bit more if you wish!), add a dash of
vinegary hot sauce (like Tabasco), and a dash of Worcestershire. Add cracked black pepper and squeeze a fat quarter of lime and drop it into the drink. Garnish with a crispy stalk of celery and a blue cheese/or feta stuffed olive.
Enjoy !
