THINGS TO DO

Sian Ka’an

The Mayan Riviera boasts an abundance of different activities for those wishing to venture off the resort.

This one is worth putting your clothes on for.

Many guests at Hidden Beach enjoy nature, but not necessarily extreme sports. Sian Ka’an biosphere offers you a unique opportunity to experience the true splendor of the Mayan Riviera without dangling from a jagged cliff face, inching down narrow ruin steps or whipping along a narrow zip line over the tree tops.

Sian Ka’an is an ecological reserve offering tours that guide you delicately through the raw, natural beauty of the Mayan Riviera. Their popular day tour includes a visit to the lagoon and Ascension Bay for bird watching and reef snorkelling. Now is the perfect time to hear the beautiful songs of some of the 360 species of birds that migrate to the area during the winter months. You will also have the opportunity to ride a bicycle, kayak, hike and snorkel in a cenote.

During the summer months you can venture into the ocean to swim alongside the docile and enormous whale shark. You may also see manta rays and dolphins. Another popular tour offers the opportunity to take a boat into the wetlands to spot Crocodiles.

Those returning from Sian Ka’an say they feel inspired, speak of the symphony of birds and say they’ll never forget the feeling of being part of the untouched nature around them.

A delicious lunch on an isolated beach and your transportation from Hidden Beach to Sian Ka’an are included in the price of each tour. Proceeds from your visit are used to fund conservation and education efforts.

Reservations for this excursion and airport transportation can be made through your Lomas Travel Representative. See your on site representative or visit www.lomastravel.com
