Hidden Beach is located on the beatiful Mayan Riviera, just one hour south of Cancun. www.hiddenbeachresort.com |
Greetings from Hidden Beach - The World's Only 5 Star, All Inclusive, Au Naturel Resort. "Clothed when practical, nude when appropriate."
Ah Mardi Gras! One of world's most sultry and vibrant celebrations. In February, Hidden's guests had a chance to experience it in all of it's glory. The day's events began with a mask-making workshop. The colorful masks, shimmering with glitter and accented with feathers, added a touch of mystery to guests' wardrobes.
A parade followed. All donned their masks and made their way around the resort pathway, dancing as they went to the sound of rhythmic music amidst colorful balloons.
To top off the days events, the "Ugly King" was crowned and all headed to the Moonlight Disco for an evening of live music and dancing.
Hidden Beach is always a beautiful place to visit. Just imagine how divine it is when bathed in the sweet light of love. February often sees the return of many guests to celebrate Valentines Day and spend time with their special someone. This year was no exception.
Poolside dining was among the romantic festivities. A special menu was served giving guests some uniquely sensual selections. The resort was speckled with splashes of red decorations and balloons.
What could possibly disrupt Hidden guests in such a euphoric state? Whilst all were blissfully basking in the warmth and passion of the occasion the appearance of entertainment staff dressed in a ridiculous cupid outfit seemed to do just that.
On one special day each year, all that give a rat's a$$ about you get together and hug you and congratulate you for simply being born. Tanya, from the Hidden Beach entertainment team, was fortunate enough to experience this outpouring of felicidades in February.
Guests and staff gathered round to sing "Happy Birthday" and "Las Mañanitas", the traditional song of congratulations in Mexico. Tanya was also surprised with a birthday cake. What was her take on the afternoon's events? "This is how I have always imagined my ideal birthday would be, she said giggling.. A bunch of naked people singing "Happy Birthday" to me.
Hmph. Well, different strokes for different folks! I always thought mine would include naked people singing and chocolate!
Who’s who spotlight.

Oscar Melendez Marban
Oscar Melendez Marban holds what is possibly my favorite job title of all time, Village Chief.
It's not only my favorite because it evokes images of loin clothes and feathered headdresses. I also find it to be very fitting. Let's face it Hidden guests are not the conformists of society. They wouldn't accept that the management of their favorite resort was in the hands of a typical boss or manager. But a Village Chief.YES!
And Oscar Melendez Marban is just the man for the job. Although young, he has years of experience aboard cruises and in other areas of the tourism industry. He embraces the Au Naturel concept of the resort saying that he finds it relaxing and enjoys the open minded approach to vacationing.
On his first day of work he jokes that was afraid, very, very afraid. Well, if he ever was, he certainly isn't now. Busily going about his daily activities, he's delighted to stop and chat with guests poolside.
When asked about what he most likes about his job, Oscar eagerly volunteers that it is the opportunity to convert a problem into an opportunity that he finds most satisfying.
While away from work, Oscar enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and going to the movies.
