Hidden Beach is located on the beatiful Mayan Riviera, just one hour south of Cancun. www.hiddenbeachresort.com |
Many guests spend their days at Hidden Beach laid out in the sun like lizards on rocks. And there is certainly no shortage of mentors adorning the rock wall bordering the beach and the winding paths of Hidden. Indeed the iguanas of Hidden, have it down pat. They are truly the masters of basking, lazing, and soakin' up the sun. But did you know that…
Iguanas eat leaves, fruit, insects and even flowers.
If a predator grabs an iguana by the tail, he is capable of losing a large piece and growing it back.
They don't come out if it is chilly outside.
They climb trees and if they detect danger will jump out of them.
They live alone. It is rare to find two living together.
Much like snakes, they shed their skin.
They don't drink water everyday. Rather, they maintain their level of hydration by absorbing the humidity in the air.
They can live to be up to 15 years old.
One of Hidden's most popular and sociable iguanas has been given the name Igor.
The healing, relaxing, stimulating sensations of touch are the fundamentals of this class. No more pencils, no more books! We're talking massage lessons.
Free to Hidden Guests, these basic massage lessons are given poolside by a couple of the spa's talented and highly trained therapists. The idea is to demonstrate (and believe me there is no shortage of volunteers) the correct way of placing ones hands on the body and the basic movements used to give a relaxing massage. Guests are also shown where pressure should and should not be applied. The result of all this being that the volunteers end up ooing and awing and drooling, while those who learn the techniques curiously head back to their suites a little earlier than usual.
It was hot, so I took everything off.
-Andrew (aka matter of fact guy)
If I did this everyday, maybe I wouldn't enjoy it so much.
-Theresa
Yes you would.
- Dave (Theresa's husband)
I wish you didn't have to sleep on vacation. It's such a waste of time!
- Alicia
We're lucky we're not in prison!
